Every morning when I visit the lighthouse I catch my breath and breathe in a moment of gratitude. I love sharing it with fellow mummas pushing their prams, excited camera happy tourists, fellow instagramers, local joggers, day trippers, and morning-after-night-trippers wrapped in blankets and sipping red bulls. And then there’s the whales, dolphins, magpies, wallabies,  and the elusive lighthouse goat who grazes on the lighthouse cliffs. The headland where the lighthouse lives is the most easterly point of Australia so you see the sun rise here before anyone else does. And because it’s the most easterly point, the whales and dolphins skim around the point so close to land that you just look down and there they are below you! It’s simply joyful.

I loved this little look book by local kids label BandiKoot, where she gathered with a troop of local kids at the lighthouse at sunset and watched them get their ‘tourist’ on. You’d be hard pressed to find our little boys Indiana or Tex on a day that they’re not wearing one little BandiKoot piece or another – it’s our staple uniform hehe.

You can grab the latest offerings from this gorgeous local label online HERE or at the local markets next time you’re here.
