with hot mumma Sarah Humphrey and her gorgeous boys Phoenix and Sky. (Sarah is wearing our Lola Dress & limited edition Robe coming soon)

Never before has a designer of children’s wear found such a lovely correlation between the style of mother and child than Emma Mcclean of Children of the Tribe. It’s such a strange and wonderful experience buying clothes for my 1 year old. I get more excited about finding him a new t-shirt or a pair of little shorts than I do about buying clothes for myself these days. So finding a kidswear label that fuses animal print, tribal prints and fabrics from far of lands into the garments I can buy for my little makes ‘going without’ a lot easier!!

I chatted to designer and Byron Bay local Emma about her label, inspiration and the morning of this gorgeous sun drenched shoot:

Tell us about the morning of the shoot!
Winter nights in Byron produce such spectacular sunrises. The long dusty road is only minutes from Byron Bay and seriously sees one of the most breathtaking rises. It was a 6am start which is pretty normal for a Mumma with kids. Sarah and I recently found these rusty little bikes at the Brunswick Vintage Markets. I knew they would make a perfect prop for the shoot. Dave ordered my partner to do a few burn outs in the distance to create a dusty gravel mist that caught the light in the distance, setting the scene. The morning reflected the typical morning for boho-barefoot Mumma Sarah, walking the sandy streets of Byron, wrapped in children.

Three things you’re inspired by at the moment. Music always inspires me, little attitudes (Willow) Pantone color charts

Sarah Phoenix, a long time Spell style muse, features in this shoot – tell us about her style.
Sarah’s sense of style totally complimented the look I was after. Although the boys range were a mix of earthy tones, bronze and aqua,  Sarah’s contribution of color/layering created the perfect mirror of perfection.
